People always have to ask about the W fishing kayak… and I tell them to get one. I now have rigged a Minn Kota electric trolling motor that works great for positioning an runs to a spot or back to dock.
The picture is two sand bass that were fighting for the same bait. Not too big but fun! This was 4/27/12 in Lake Ray Hubbard a few miles from my house. With the W, I can through it on the back of the F150 and get a 2-3 hour fishing trip in before dark..

It’s actually very comfortable to paddle in and very stable on the water. I think the stability is due to the fact your body weight is distributed over a larger area because of the placement of the legs/feet of the chair.
I thought it would have been more “tippy” because you are sitting a few inches higher than the saddle but the opposite is true.
Also attached is one of the other reasons I love being on the water… The wild life on the bayou is much different and the only real way to get close to it is to be on the water.

What drove Steve to order a W kayak for himself in the first place was a lower back problem he developed after paddling a SOT kayak. This back pain cured him from ever wanting to paddle old-style sit-in and sit-on-top kayaks.

The Aussie Kayaks company is located in Bendigo, north of Melbourne, in Victoria, a state in the southeastern tip of the Australian continent that’s facing the island of Tasmania. Steve and his team will assist Australian anglers with rigging their W kayaks for fishing, and plan to develop motorized kayak fishing as well.
