I have already taken my W300 fishing kayak out of mothballs, but I still just don’t have “anything to write home about”.
While not impressive, the attached shows a recent bass caught with an emmrod fishing pole.
I was hoping to get some decent pics to send along, but I have not gone out for more than a few hours, as work is keeping me busy…
Because there was not much ice this Winter, I made a few outings when the air was in the 40′s and water in the 30′s in March. Dry launch and landing in a W fishing kayak make this possible.

I took Skye out today for a little fishing trip at a Pond not far from my house.
I promised her I would, since I left her home to chase some Stripers on the Ct River with my Buddy Mike yesterday.
Fishing was very tough, water is high and Muddy On the Ct River.
I did manage to land a nice fat Striper, I cast my 3/8 oz. jig rigged with a Berkeley Hollow belly in blue herring up next to a lay down close to shore and BAM…………………. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Pole bending and my tip is bouncing as this bad girl made her run down river, then I was reeling like a mad woman as she turned and swam back up river..
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ………….I finally gain some ground and get her boat side.
Mike got the lip grippers, and she’s in the boat.
My first Keeper of the season, 29 1/2” and 14#, fat and healthy.
She swam away strong to fight another day.
Next Week, I’m taking the W500 out for my first Striper trip, My buddy Mike will be out in his Bass boat
keeping and eye on me, I can’t wait.
The pond gave up no big fish today, but that doesn’t matter, it was nice just being out on the water in my W500, fishing with my dog.
Tight Lines and MoPaddle Safe All.

People always have to ask about the W fishing kayak… and I tell them to get one. I now have rigged a Minn Kota electric trolling motor that works great for positioning an runs to a spot or back to dock.
The picture is two sand bass that were fighting for the same bait. Not too big but fun! This was 4/27/12 in Lake Ray Hubbard a few miles from my house. With the W, I can through it on the back of the F150 and get a 2-3 hour fishing trip in before dark..
“This seat sits a little higher, and it’s much more comfortable than the rigid seat I had added before.”

By Jeremy Knight,
My dad and I decided to take our W fishing kayaks out on Tims Ford Lake.
I never imagined it could be so much fun! We were able to get the Wavewalks in places we can’t take our other boat.
We fished with small yellow and white jigs using the trolling method. We threw our lines out and paddled the Wavewalks so the line would trail behind the kayaks. We caught over a dozen fish in a very short amount of time!
We decided to race back to the dock on our way in. I took the lead but eventually looked up to see Dad passing me up. He had the long W paddle with him which allows you to stand up while paddling the Wavewalk 500 fishing kayak. I couldn’t believe he won! Of course, I had to take my kayak back out for a second just to see what an advantage paddling while standing up would give a person.
The Wavewalk kayaks are very easy to load/unload, and maneuver in the water.
I was very comfortable while fishing, and I loved the fact I could stand up if I needed to.
I can’t wait for some more adventures…
